Cons: Tests are difficult with trick questions.
Lecture slides are not available.
Cons: The TA's speak little to no english. Good luck with that.
Cons: gets off topic at times
- Loud, attentive, and never sleep-inducing.
- Has a great attitude, enjoys teaching.
- He teaches in a very efficient way.
- Uses great examples.
- Daily sample problems. Not-graded but great for studying.
- Provides every page number you need to know.
Cons: - Strict and snappy about leaving early.
- Exams are very challenging unless you know the material "from the back of your hand."
- Uses the TA's and discussions.
- No online form of notes or study-guides.
- Quizzes (assigned by some TA's, not Staihr).
- Uses trick questions (warns about it in class, though).
* Its best to take both his Mico and Macro classes as they complement each other incredibly well.
* If you enjoy the subject of Economics, it is almost guaranteed you will enjoy the class.
* You MUST go to class. Some of his material is either skipped in the book, or not in it at all. He will tell you when this occurs, but only in class. They always show up on the exams.
** Overall: It may be one of the best Econ classes offered. He may be challenging but, if you walk out with a mediocre grade, you will still know a plethora of information than most. His lectures will keep you interested and aware of the monetary world around you. I highly recommend this teacher regardless of the difficulty.
Cons: Almost too smart to be teaching beginner courses. Teaches huge lecture hall classes and it's not easy to get things clarified.
Brain is an awesome teacher. I'd definitely recommend him. The only problem is, he teaches so many people it's hard for him to do anything one-on-one. You'll probably be given a discussion leader, which is kind of luck of the draw.
very good notes
Cons: doesnt give notes to us
Cons: Kinda boring lectures, but not too bad.
Great class to fulfill the Econ requirement.
fun to listen to lecture
Cons: tests were very difficult
Gives money away!
Cons: Works fast
Overall nice guy
Cons: You must attend lectures to get an A
